Story from Church

So in Sunday school today we were talking about Alma and Amuleck and the power of a double witness. At some point in the lesson a member of the ward decided to share this jem. Love it...
In Russia there was a girl (clearly the specifics of the story are unimportant, like where in Russia, When, Who etc) who was in school. One day there was a discussion of some kind and this girl declared to the class that she did believe in God. The teacher and students demanded that she retract what she had said, but she refused. At the end of the day the teacher informed her that she should come to school and be prepared to deny God or face the consequences. The girl went home and her and her family spent the night praying. The next morning the girl went to school petrified of what would happen. When she got to school she was informed that her teacher had died in the night.
After this the story teller said, "Isn't that wonderful." It's true she actually said that. I'm not sure what the moral of the story is, perhaps that God hates Conmmunism. That God kills people that threaten to give mormons detentions. That it's good when teachers die in the night if they weren't very good. I'm not sure why but I am thrilled when I hear people say this crazy stuff and believe it.

ha ha ha lucy that post was hilarious. church is full of crazy stories isn't it. A deseret ward sacrament meeting comes to mind, when a member got up and declared that her son was doing so well on his mission, because maori testimonies are more powerful than any other. but i think the communism story trumps that.

hey lucy - so yeah I vaguely remember "and the rain stopped". Lian's favourite we always bust out is a story from aunty hana "and seven beautiful dolphins sang seven beautiful waiata". That was a crazy one for sure. Anyway the bread in new cale is totally awesome we ate heaps of it piled up with cheese oh yeah. It's not the same here is it. We got on our trip October 7th...so a few months away. Unfortunately Hawaii is not on the agenda otherwise we would have loved to have bummed off you ha ha. Mum and dad get home on July 1st. crazy.
