Mesmerized

Loving the vintage smashing pumpkins

For true God life

This is the phrase this beautiful girl would say to make sure I wasn't lying (because a lot of the time I was).

I have fought the desire to post this story, but I can't fight it any longer, I will shamelessly exploit the suffering of others to enlighten those I love (don't be mad jess). It is amazing to me that this happend, to someone i kind of know, maybe a little, or at least to the sister of someone i know well.

One of my best friends sisters recently had a c-section WITHOUT anesthetic!!!!!

I had two immediate responses #1. Is she suing? Living in America I am always looking for an opportunity to sue, this seemed perfect.
#2. Did you know your sister was a superhero, or one of the x-men.
A La Hulk (Even thought the movie wasn't great Eric Bana seemed a little more appropriate than Edward Norton).

or maybe like one of the xmen, maybe this one...

Maybe she has been in training all of her life to be able to be prepared for this

I am in awe of this amazing woman, and I hope she is feeling better. It's awesome to know (kind of) a real life super hero.

PositiveNegative

I have been thinking a lot lately about Art and Design and how important both are to me, i really want to get back involved in art in a way that I haven't really been for years, so with this in mind i will try to post more art inspired stuff on my blog. I hope you like it.

These are all pieces by one of my favorite artists Jim Dine. I love how he works with Positive and Negative. I have been trying to buy some of his books but i guess there are limited numbers because they are all about $500 each these days.

Anyway today I discovered this amazing wallpaper artist and the more I looked at her work the more I realized that what I love about it is what I love about Jim Dine, Positive and Negative. Check it out.

Alice in Wonderland

Check out this beautiful girl...

Happy Birthday. I love you so much and I hope you have a great day. I miss you everyday, and think about what a beautiful, smart, funny, kind, talented, sweet girl you are. I hope you never believe anything else. I love you Alice and I think you are the best Sister I could've had. I can't wait to see you again, soon I hope. You have been a blessing in my life since the day you were born. You have all my love Alice.

'I wonder if I've been changed in the night? Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I'm not the same, the next question is 'Who in the world am I?' Ah, that's the great puzzle!'

Treasure from Church this week

So lucky enough for me, Sunday school comment lady was picked to speak in sacrament.... Boy did she have a treat for us. Enjoy.
Two Soldiers were sent to war (she actually said 3 but as the third served no purpose and was never mentioned he will be ignored in the recitation of this story)-again I can't help but notice the vagueness of the premise of the story, which soldiers, which war? Before leaving to go into the battlefield, they received a promise (who is the promise giver?), that if they would keep the word of wisdom they would return uninjured or hurt in any way (did this promise extend to PTS).
The first soldier stayed strong and did not break the word of wisdom, he asked to put in the most dangerous area because he knew that he could go further than others (who were killed, perhaps for breaking the WOW). He was successful and returned home without injury. The second man however had a lapse and while he was on leave he did break the word of wisdom. As a result of this he was severely injured and still lives with a constant reminder of his disobedience.

Wow. With people being killed all over the world in areas of conflict is it not impeatve that we get this message out, obey the word of wisdom and be saved. Imagine the consolation the families of those killed in war would feel if they understood, he died because he didn't keep the word of wisdom. What an inspiring message of joy.
